The Stage in the Mine
Deep down in one of the mine’s most magnificent chambers awaits a stage unlike any other.
In one of the mine’s most grand and beautiful halls, this jewel sits with its own adjacent dressing room (the Lodge). The chamber above the stage has a ceiling height of approximately 20 metres. The stage was completed in 2020 and took three years to build. With a combination of smooth and angular rock surfaces, the acoustics here are close to perfect.
Whether you want to arrange your own event or have us arrange it for you – concert, lecture, theatre – only your imagination sets the limit.
The stage together with the mine is perfect for those who want a larger event in our unique setting: kickoffs, theatre, magicians, fire shows or live bands. There is space for 400 seated / 500 standing guests, and behind the audience lies a crystal-clear, illuminated underground lake.
The stage must be experienced in person to understand just how powerful it is.

Pyrotechnics
We have our own pyrotechnician who can help with everything from spark fountains to gasoline bombs.
Acoustics
The rock chamber is very large—20–40 metres high—and extends hundreds of metres in all directions through openings and passages. The rock surrounding the stage floors is hard, with a mix of smooth and angular surfaces. The acoustics are often described as a blend of an open-air stage and a church. The reverberation time is approximately 4 seconds.
Network & Wi‑Fi
A fibre connection of 250/250 Mbit/s, upgradeable to 1000/1000 Mbit/s. On all stage floors and up in the Lodge, there are access points for a password-protected Wi‑Fi network.
Electrical system
The stage is supplied with 100A. Each floor is equipped with 6 outlets, each with 1 × 3‑phase 16A plus 4 × single‑phase 10A. Around the rock chamber there are approximately 15 additional outlets with 3‑phase 16A and single‑phase 10A. All outlets have individual RCDs. All power cables, including speaker cables, are shielded and routed in separate channels.
The Project
Building a stage 80 metres underground is no ordinary construction project. In one of the mine’s most magnificent chambers, with a ceiling height of around 20 metres, work began to transform a simple gravel slope into a full-scale performance venue. With EU support via the Dalälvarna development area, the team dared to invest in a project that combines culture, adventure and industrial history in a way that hardly exists anywhere else.
Over several years, materials were carried, winched and installed down into the mountain. Everything had to work in an environment that is humid, cold and completely surrounded by rock. The result is an underground stage with near-perfect acoustics, where the reverberation is described as a blend of a church interior and an open outdoor stage. Today, everything from opera and choral music to electronic concerts, theatre and fire shows can take place here—set against a crystal-clear, illuminated mine lake and an audience that quite literally stands inside the mountain.
The project is proof of how four people, with limited resources, can create something truly unique. Now it is up to the artists to carry the torch forward.
