Set out on an unforgettable journey deep below the surface and explore a hidden underground world shaped by history, curiosity and adventure. The experience begins with the story of three boys whose explorations paved the way for one of Sweden’s most unique mine tours. Together with experienced guides, you follow in their footsteps and descend 80 metres underground.
You move through winding tunnels and vast rock chambers, illuminated only by your headlamp. Along the way, you encounter crystal-clear underground lakes, natural formations and an atmosphere where nature and history intertwine. The guides share fascinating stories about miners, local legends and the unique spirit of the mine.
The adventure is carried out using a Via Ferrata safety system, and for those who wish, there is the opportunity to try a zipline across an underground lake. Midway through the mine, we pause for coffee and traditional Swedish fika in a historic dynamite storage chamber – a chance to fully absorb the experience.
The tour suits both adventure seekers and history enthusiasts, offering memories that last long after you return to the surface.

Before your visit
Equipment & Clothing
The temperature in the mine is 4°C all year round. We recommend:
- Sturdy shoes, preferably hiking boots
- Thermal base layers
- Warm, durable trousers and jacket
- Beanie
- A warm sweater
- Gloves (mandatory – available for purchase at the reception)
- You are welcome to bring a small backpack for clothing and personal items if you would like to adjust your outfit during the tour.
- Good to bring: Warm clothing and hiking shoes/boots.
Important Information
- Weight requirement: 36–120 kg
- Visitors under 15 years of age may only participate when accompanied by a legal guardian.
- The tour takes place at your own risk and under your own responsibility.
- Written approval of the participation terms is required. Please print them out and prepare at home.
- The content of the tour may vary depending on conditions in the mine.
How does the tour work?
The Adventure Tour begins above ground where your guides meet you, go through safety procedures and explain what to expect during the tour. Once you are properly dressed and equipped with helmet, headlamp and harness, you head underground.
The journey starts through a small shaft and continues on foot through long passages and mighty rock chambers. Where needed, you are secured to a Via Ferrata system, comparable in difficulty to climbing a three-metre ladder.
Further into the mine, you cross a suspension bridge and move through passages over water. At 80 metres depth, you enjoy coffee and Swedish fika in a heated dynamite storage chamber.
You pause in complete darkness to experience total silence deep inside the mountain. If you are lucky, a torch is lit and you witness the power of light over darkness.
If you dare, you may try the zipline over one of the underground lakes before returning to daylight.

Frequently Asked Questions
My child is below the minimum weight limit. Can they still join the Adventure Tour?
It is essential to meet the minimum weight requirement, as this is set by the manufacturer of the safety equipment. If a participant weighs too little, the fall arrester will not deploy correctly in the event of a fall, increasing the risk of injury.
An alternative solution is for an adult to accompany the child down via the staircase and meet the rest of the group at 80 metres below ground, where they can then participate in the remainder of the tour.

How difficult is the climbing on the Adventure Tour?
The level of difficulty can be adapted to you as a visitor.
We usually say that if you are comfortable climbing a 3-metre ladder, you will be able to manage the climbing sections in the mine.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, durable clothing and shoes with good grip – preferably hiking boots or sturdy outdoor shoes. Sneakers or training shoes also work, but keep in mind that the temperature in the mine is around 4°C (39°F) all year round.
We recommend thermal base layers, warm and durable trousers and jacket, a hat, and an extra warm sweater. Gloves are mandatory on all tours and can be purchased at the reception.
You are welcome to bring a small backpack with extra clothing and personal items so you can adjust your outfit during the tour.
Equipment
All necessary safety equipment is included: a harness, safety lanyard with shock absorber and two self-locking carabiners, as well as a helmet with headlamp.
